The Center Book: Terms of Service

Effective date: September 28, 2026 Operated by: The Center Book LLC (“The Center Book”, “we”, “us”) · steve@thecenterbook.com

1. The service

The Center Book is software for learning centers. It covers attendance, scheduling, family communication, a family portal and appointment booking. These terms apply to everyone who uses it: centers, their staff, and families who use a center’s family portal.

2. Accounts

3. Acceptable use

Don’t:

4. Messages

Centers choose which texts and emails go to their families. Families can stop texts by replying STOP, and can ask their center to change how they’re contacted.

5. Google Calendar connection

Staff may connect a Google Calendar. We access it only as described in our Privacy Policy, and our use of Google user data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can disconnect at any time from your “My Calendars” card or from your Google Account.

6. Your information

Information a center enters belongs to that center. We handle it only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running and secure, but we can’t promise it will never be interrupted. We may improve or change features over time, and will give centers notice of significant changes.

8. Fees

Fees for centers are set out in each center’s agreement with us. Families don’t pay us to use the family portal.

9. Ending use

A center can stop using the service under its agreement. We may suspend access that breaks these terms. After a center leaves, we handle its data as our Privacy Policy describes.

10. Disclaimers and limits

As is. The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Centers remain responsible for their own decisions about students, families and staff.

Limit of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows:

These limits don’t apply where the law doesn’t allow them.

Indemnity. Each center will defend and indemnify The Center Book LLC against third-party claims arising from information the center enters, messages it sends, or its failure to obtain consents it was required to obtain.

Governing law and disputes. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, each side agrees to try to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days after written notice. Any lawsuit will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Kent County, Michigan, and both sides consent to those courts.

Other terms.
